The Ashihara Kaikan Federation of Belgrade was founded in 2007, dedicated to the development, improvement, and promotion of Ashihara Karate as a modern and dynamic martial art. Through systematic work with children, youth, and adults, the federation brings together clubs and athletes with the aim of fostering sportsmanship, discipline, self-confidence, and a healthy lifestyle. By organising competitions, seminars, grading examinations, and training camps, we actively contribute to the professional development of coaches and competitors, as well as strengthening the Ashihara community in Belgrade and beyond. Serbian Delegation Attends the 40th Anniversary Celebration of Ashihara Karate in Romania
The Serbian delegation, led by Saša Anđelić, President of the Ashihara Kaikan Association of Belgrade, participated in the ceremonial celebration marking the 40th anniversary of Ashihara Karate in Romania, held on 20 June in Poiana Brașov.
The jubilee brought together the pioneers of this martial art, instructors, coaches, and long-standing members of the Ashihara community from Romania and other countries, reaffirming the international reputation and recognition that the Romanian Ashihara organization enjoys today.
The presence of representatives of Serbia at this jubilee once again confirmed the strong sporting and friendly relations between the Ashihara organizations of the two countries, as well as their shared commitment to preserving the values promoted by this style of karate.
Five Medals for Serbia at the Sabaki Cup in Warsaw
The 10th International Sabaki Cup was held in Warsaw on May 30. In strong international competition, featuring 5 European countries – Serbia, Spain, Denmark, Romania, and host Poland – the national team of Japan also took part.
Among 247 competitors, five Serbian athletes won medals in the Ashihara Kumite discipline:
Dunja Đorđević, 2nd place in the cadet category 2011/12
Dimitrije Stojković, 2nd place in the cadet category 2011/12
Rastko Radojković, 2nd place in the junior -60kg category
Aleksandar Lađević, 3rd place in the junior -75kg category
Andrej Đorđević, 3rd place in the junior absolute category
Out of seven Serbian representatives at this competition, Angelina Jožić in the senior category and Nikolina Radojković in the cadet category did not win top honors.
Serbia with gold from Tashkent, a great success for Andrija Ašanin
The III Asian Championship in Ashihara Karate took place on 25 and 26 April 2026 in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The current world champion and runner-up, Andrija Ašanin (Tsuru Club), has once again confirmed his dominance in technical disciplines and shown that Serbian fighters today stand as equals with the strongest world teams in Ashihara sport.
Our junior representative achieved exceptional international success by winning a gold medal in the kata discipline and a bronze medal in the kumite discipline.
Winter Camp of the Alliance, Gostilje 2026
The Winter Ashihara Camp was held from March 13th to 15th, 2026, in Gostilj on Zlatibor, organised by the Ashihara Federation of Belgrade and the Ashihara Federation of Serbia. Bringing together over 130 participants from various clubs, the camp once again confirmed its importance as one of the key events in the calendar of the domestic Ashihara Karate community.
Over three days, six thematic training sessions were held, focused on technical improvement and the exchange of experiences among karatekas and coaches. Special training sessions for the youngest participants of the camp were organised, led by Ana Anđelić. A special segment of the programme was a referee training seminar, led by Sensei Svetlan Skenderovski, offering participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with and improve their knowledge in the area of refereeing.
Tsuru Cup 2025
On 6 December 2025, the eighth annual International Ashihara Kaiikan Tournament – the New Year's Tsuru Cup – was held in the main hall of the 'Mirko Sandić' Sports Centre in Belgrade.
This year's competition saw 196 competitors from four countries (Romania, Denmark, Poland, and Serbia), representing 17 clubs.
Among the domestic competitors, the most significant results and gold medals in the kumite category were won by: Andrija Ašanin (Tsuru), Vuk Anđelković (Budućnost), Petar Novićević (Tsuru), Zoran Knežević (Obilić), Vanja Perović (Obilić), Teodor Tomić (Tsuru), Dimitrije Stojković (Hyo), Andrija Đorđević (Tsuru), Jakov Milojević (Oplenac) and Nađa Macanović (Crna Mamba).
Awards were presented to the best athletes for the year 2025.
At the regular session of the Assembly of the Ashihara Kaikan Federation of Belgrade, held on December 6, 2025, awards were ceremonially presented to the Federation’s most successful athletes of 2025.
For outstanding sporting achievements, awards were presented to Rastko Anđelić, Vuk Milenković, Andrija Ašanin, Dunja Đorđević, and Lazar Milenković.
These athletes distinguished themselves throughout the year through their hard work, dedication, and success in competitions, proudly representing their clubs and the Federation while setting a high standard for future generations. Their achievements reflect the continuous quality of work within the clubs and a strong commitment to the development of young athletes.
